The Palace Hotel

It was our 54th Anniversary! A great place to celebrate!

The Palace Hotel is very unique and so interesting - history and surrounding area - awesome getaway. Port Townsend is a great place to shop

This hotel is so charming and quiet. Our room was very clean and spacious and I LOVED the claw foot tub. There are many things to enjoy about this place except that the bed was absolutely terrible. It was obviously quite old, had a huge dip on one side that sagged down and you could feel the springs. If it wasn’t for the bed I’d have given it 5 stars!

Love staying at the Palace! Staff is super friendly and the uniqueness and beauty of the building is great! Location is ideal for shopping and dining. The little beach area across the street is wonderful too. Great for early morning sunrises and evening sunsets.

The Palace Hotel is in a beautiful old building (the Captain Tibbals building I think) which was built at the end of the 19th century. The hotel really gives a great feel for the history of the building and the area while still providing most modern comforts. We stayed in the Miss Rose room for New Year's Eve and enjoyed the room's ample space for two people and the long claw foot tub. The very high ceilings definitely evoke a different time, as do the stairs up to the third floor. Due to the age and historical importance of the building there is no elevator. Also no A/C but we didn't miss that in late December. The staff universally were friendly, helpful and courteous; a smile goes a long way in Port Townsend. Parking in back was easy; we didn't notice and didn't ask about luggage carts. Kind of a moot point due to all of the stairs. The hotel is located right on Water Street in downtown with easy walking access to wonderful shops, eateries and ice cream. In room coffee is adequate and two great coffee shops are across the street. I highly recommend the Palace for a winter visit based on its historical charm and unique feel, the hotel's location and its staff. Plus I got in a solid quad workout.

My husband and I frequently visit Pt. Townsend, but this was our first time staying at the Palace Hotel. From first entering, the staff was very courteous and welcoming. The hotel has a warm and cozy feel that makes you want to explore its nooks and cranies where you can play a game of Cribbage or enjoy a book. The Palace is very conveniently located. We were steps from the Fountain Cafe where we enjoyed a great dinner. Make sure to grab an individually brewed pour-over cup of coffee from Better Living Through Coffee! Soak on the Sound will allow you to fully unwind in their salt baths. Our two night stay was relaxing, comfortable, and welcoming in a very clean room. We will be returning!

The Palace in Port Townsend is a classic old downtown hotel. The rooms and public areas are charming and functional. Other than some wiring idiosyncracies- we could not disentangle some electric cords to get the bedside lamps plugged in- it was lovely

Step back in time in this lovely, vintage hotel. Safe, clean, peaceful. Highly recommend for your time in Port Townsend.

The Palace Hotel is a charming downtown hotel in Port Townsend within easy walking distance of shopping and restaurants. Of course, almost nothing was open on Christmas Day. We still enjoyed our stay. Beautiful decorations. Comfy bed. The room has a high ceiling and it took quite awhile to heat it up with a baseboard electric panel. I suggest that they provide tissues. There weren't any. Also, probably Christmas is the only day this happens, but some kind of simple breakfast would have been appreciated. Our only choice turned out to be Starbucks inside the local Safeway store. We did have a coffee pot in the room and the coffee was tasty. It was also nice to have real china cups instead of disposable ones.
