Stoney Creek Hotel Sioux City

We loved our stay. We were nervous because previous reviews said the furniture and carpets needed replacement. Not true! The ambiance they are going for is a rustic cabin or fishing lodge. As far as I could tell, just one chair in each room is „distressed“ meaning the chair was new but had been beat up to make it look old. The breakfast was very good. I‘ve never seen croissants at a hotel breakfast before. We especially appreciated that the rooms were truly clean-no stray hairs or flecks of junk to try to ignore. I thought the beds were perfect while my husband said they were a little too firm.

Got into town early & asked about check in at 1pm & was told no rooms were ready but she never looked in the computer. Our event started at 3 & went until 9 so was hoping to check in a little early. The breakfast was ready before 7 which was nice since we had to leave at 6:55am.

It’s nice. Could use an update. All seems a bit dusty and outdated. Tiles missing around hot tub, no towels in pools area, carpets a but sticky….the breakfast is great and very good coffee! Comfy bed, quiet. I’d stay again

Disappointed in the price jump of over $100 per night just because the town was busy. Highway robbery. There was glitter all over the floor and a vape under the couch. Not impressed for a $300 room per night.

We had ant's in the bed and bathroom the second room the carpet was worn out coffee maker didn't work

One reason we booked this hotel was because wife wanted to be in a hot tub. Got to hotel and there was a sign saying hot tub closed for maintenance, was extremely disappointing for her. Also price seemed higher than what I booked for when it said what the charge would be. So I questioned that and said something about hot tub. Girl offered to put us in hot tub room but didn't know what price would be so, specifically said it is the computer that sets everything up, so we stayed in our choice of room. That is all the negative. The lady checking us in asked which floor we wanted, had never been asked that before so really appreciated it. The lady working the bar was very friendly and made us feel appreciated. Even though no hot tub the pool was amazing and we enjoyed our time in it. Very peaceful night that night and next morning the lady that checked us out, Tiffani I believe, recognized me from our many stays and while apologizing for our minor check in issues, with what she said did make us feel appreciated. Also breakfast while pretty basic was actually good. The ham slices and sausage tasted good. Even though hiccups with check in and hot tub, this was probably our best stay

The hotel has great furnishings, is unique and has the potential of a being a great place to stay. However, we noticed how dirty the elevator was as soon as we went up to our room. We understand that customers may mess things up, but it remained the same the next day with no cleaning done. As soon as we walked into the room there was a big dirty stain on the carpet, you could tell that our room was maintained by a quick vacuum job which left the edges full of dust in both the carpeted areas and in the tiled area. The furniture and desk were also dusty. When we checked out the pool area, there were no towels on the rack, and we soon discovered the hot tub was green. When we brought to the staff's attention, they agreed and said that the chemicals had not been maintained yet that day, and they did close it. This made us concerned about the maintenance of the pool also. The breakfast area was dirty, and the food was poor, I ended up just eating a banana. I honesty have not complained about a stay more than one or two times it all my years of travel but felt that I had to on this one. We were given a phone number for a supervisor and left a message but did not receive a call back. I do take the ratings of others into consideration when choosing a place to stay and hope to prevent others from having a very disappointing experience.

Very disappointed but also forgiving. Stayed here many of times throughout my childhood and adulthood and never really had major concerns nor complaints. Our recent stay (Feb 15, 24) it was later that evening that my family and I experienced something disgusting, frightening, and unfortunate. Staying in room 419 at the time, my 1 year old son and I were in bed when something out my peripheral vision caught my eye crawling towards us. Upon examining it was a bed bug also smelled of a bed bug when crushing into the sheet with a near by object. We did video record the incident, and notified front desk IMMEDIATELY. They were generous and considerate and acted very accordingly to the situation. We were then moved to room 463 where the remaining of our stay was positive but unforgettably uncomfortable. The employee at front desk at the time gave us a card with contact information to the owner of operations. She stated we could possibly get free meals from the dining area or a free room depending the communication between say owner and I. The man still never contacted me back and we our now checking out today (feb 18, 24). Stoney creek Sioux City Iowa.

It was a convenient place with an affordable night stay. The only comment I have is that we reserved a king and they were sold out somehow by our check in, so we had to pay the extra money for the bigger room. That was the only downside of this stay.
