Tivoli Alvor

Excelente estadia.

Just leaving this beautiful hotel, rooms very comfortable and spacious. We had ground floor room which had a lovely garden with sun loungers. Buffet restaurant had plenty of choice just wish food could have been a bit warmer. Italian and Grill restaurants both very good. 5 minute train ride to Alvor which picks you up at hotel runs every hour. Beautiful fishing village just visits were ruined by the rain. My son who is 11 was a bit bored think they could do more activities around the pool maybe they do in the summer months. Not sure! Overall lovely place

We spent five nights at this resort and cannot fault it. Beautiful grounds, clean well equipped rooms and amazing staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Geraldine in reception greeted us upon arrival and explained everything to us. The head chef at Roastic Rodrigo even made us Indian masala tea for breakfast without us asking as well as parathas. A special mention for Vacil who works in Essenze. He looked after us every evening at dinner and treated us like family. All the staff in reception were always super helpful and would happily take us to our rooms in a golf cart when we were too tired! We will definitely be back!

We have been to Portugal a few times with and without children and this time for the first time thought we would try all inclusive. This hotel was perfect. 3 family pools, a huge buffet selection for brekkie lunch and dinner and 2 different restaurants to choose from daily (you need to book the restaurants in advance). We are foodies and were worried about this part but pleasantly surprised! The buffet was good, we had no issues at all they had someone cooking fresh fish, or pancakes depending on time of day. Fresh salads, hot dishes and plenty of fruit. We were greeted by wonderful staff, Raffa being one of them, who made us all feel welcome throughout the whole week. Nothing was too much, everyone from reception, bar and entertainment staff were friendly and welcoming. The entertainment peeps were great with the kids and the nightly shows were great (such a hard job entertaining everyone EVERY night! So well done!) The entrance, surroundings and room were spotless and well kept. A real haven and made you feel instantly relaxed which is exactly what you want. The room was big enough, we are a family of 4 2 boys aged 6 and 9. The bed was huge! The couch bed was perfect and according to my 6 and 9 year old very comfortable! This was perfect and exactly what we needed, my boys loved the freedom of choosing their own food, getting their own drinks and all the choice on offer. It was a highlight for them!! Thank you to all the team there, a great holiday had by all and we will be back! The hotel has its own little train to drop you off into the town and collect you on the hour every hour throughout the day as well as it’s own walkway to the beach (no more than 10mins for both!). It was perfect as kids didn’t have to walk too far or wait around for transport!

We have just returned from a week at this lovely hotel. This was a lovely break in a beautiful setting. The staff at this hotel were simply amazing, seeking to help and make sure that we had everything we needed. Some going totally above and beyond. Having the adults only pool offered us a really peaceful space which we enjoyed. The walk over the bridge to the beach took max of ten minutes and led to a lovely beach with amazing sea views. The hotel offers a land train into Alvor which was a great addition and we enjoyed our trip into the town. Our 4 out of 5 relates to a couple of pieces of attention to detail that may iron out as the season goes on.

Very clean and modern hotel, the pools, rooms, and restaurants are great and the staff are fantastic however a few things really let this hotel down • Evening entertainment- 5:30pm they host a kids disco, this is far to early as the sun is still beaming down and most kids want to still be in the pool or at least getting ready with their family for the evening, following this there is nothing on until 9:30pm, there is nothing going on so just chaos with kids running around looking for something to do, when 9:30 comes round the entertainment then is much to be desired and very child oriented, this lasts for around 30 minutes and then everything shuts off again. • The bar, great selection of drinks available with all premium available but come the evening if you can be bothered to stand in a queue for 20+ minutes waiting to be served - the length is due to the cocktails being made, in my opinion the premium bar that is not utilised needs to be allocated for those who want cocktails and the main bar for all other drinks. • Restaurants- although lovely and clean one of our party is a vegetarian and in the main restaurant there is little to none options that cater for veggies - they host a mid night snack bar which I went too and they had a “vegan chilli” on offer, if they can do that in the middle of the night why not during main dinner times? Literally no options or section for people with diet restrictions. Overall a very pleasant hotel however these issues needs to be addressed and could easily be a 5/5. My stay also was not in peak season or half term so I dread the queues etc when that time comes around

We stayed at Tivoli Alvor for 7 nights at all inclusive, a Jet2 package. The reception staff are amazing, Miguel (I hope I got the name right) helped us with our suitcases and we’ve been offered a glass of lemonade while waiting to check in. Miguel then took us on a lovely resort tour in one of the resort’s buggies and brought all our baggage to the room. The rooms are specious, clean and modern. The lovely cleaning staff make sure there’s fresh towels and bottled water every day. The little room fridge is perfect for those hot days …we also used it to store baby food. We used the lush dressing gowns a lot too. There’s plenty of storage space, both hanging rails and drawers, the lovely room cleaner gave me extra clothes hangers as I like most clothes hanged. The grounds are so beautiful, clean, safe for small kids and well maintained with some stunning exotic plants. There’s 3 infinity pools, a dedicated kids pool with little water slides and an adults only pool(which looked really relaxing but we didn’t use) All pools are kids friendly. There are a lot of kids, mostly under 5. There’s plenty of sun beds for everyone, nice pool towels, cold soft drinks available by the pool and any other cocktails or branded drinks available down at the bar. The food has been great for us. We are not fussy eaters. Plenty of choices for everyone I think. The cakes need a special mention, they were just divine every day! You must try the two a la carte restaurants, the food was spot on. I celebrated my birthday at Roustic and had a delicious chateaubriand steak and because I couldn’t make my mind on the sauce the chef has given me 4 different sauce pots to try. Andrianne and the staff made my birthday night really special, especially Ashish. The entertainment is more for kids but we enjoyed it with our 18 month old. There’s a stunning beach 7 minutes walk( playa de los tre hermanos) The resorts little chuchu train takes you to the little fishing village of Alvor from where you walk on the boardwalk to another lovely sandy beach. We took a taxi to Lagos (70 euros return) an old fortress town with beautiful restaurants and marina. The stunning Ponta de Piedade is about 5 minutes drive or 30/40 min walk around the amazing coast line . We also had free entry to Zoomarine with our Jet2 package. It’s £80 return taxi but it’s absolutely worth spending a day there with the little ones. All staff at this resort are great with kids and they are always happy to help with a smile . All in all we recommend this resort for a nice relaxing holiday in a beautiful location.

We visited here before Tivoli took over in 2022. We have stayed at Tivoli hotels before so we were excited to see what changes had been made, not that it needed any. Well, what a disappointment, changes have happened however all have been derogatory to our stay. The food for starters, we raved about the food on our previous stay but it was poor to say the least this time around. Monotonous cold food churned out every day, often late and understaffed leading to long queues reminiscent of 1970’s Pontins. You do have options, if you want to book one of the a la carte restaurants you can stand in the queue for over an hour because you can’t book in advance of 2 days.This used to be an easy automated process but sadly not anymore. Previously kids could go and get themselves soft drinks but not anymore, again you have to queue at the understaffed main bar area. People reserving sun loungers but not actually using them but returning 5 hours later. This place used to be a little bit of paradise, if I was you I would avoid at cost !!!!

Lovely hotel, would return. Very helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Spacious, comfortable, very clean, well equipped rooms. Great swimming pools, especially the very large kids pool and the adults only pool. First time on an all inclusive package, very impressed by quality, variety and availability of food in all restaurants.
