From the moment we checked into Barcelo Nura Spa Hotel, the attention to detail was faultless. Greeted with a glass of cava whilst checking in, José the helpful concierge taking our luggage to our room. When we realised the sun wouldn’t be on our private terrace and plunge pool all day, reception were excellent in changing our room to one where we would have the sun all day, at an additional cost but worth it. The rooms really are lovely, especially outside with it’s fantastic terrace with decked sunbathing area, with direct access to a plunge pool shared with the room next door. It was a great start to our holiday at this stunning, relaxing spa hotel. The staff are extremely hard working, especially the restaurant (Karen and Ion to name two) and bar staff Carlos and Carlos were excellent. Paul the breakfast chef always greeted us with a smile and chat. Dominik the hotel manger is a super, friendly guy, who we chatted to often. The buffet breakfast had everything you could want and was excellent. As was the selection and quality of food served in the evenings. Now for the ******* • A hen party of 18 cackling girls arrived on our 3rd day there and decided they were going to sunbathe right opposite our decked terrace. Gone was the serene peace and quiet. Luckily they were only there 3 days! Large group bookings like this are always going to disrupt other guests and be annoying. • Our plunge pool wasn’t sectioned off like the other plunge pools in our row, so other guests were coming into our pool area (to swim and play ball) that we’d paid a premium for. This was annoying. It’s should be sectioned off, so it’s only for rooms 207/208. • A party of approximately 50 guests, I think a company booking, arrived to ruin the peaceful, relaxing spa hotel vibe. Some other guests were telling us, over drinks on the rooftop bar, how a large group of rowdy guests had taken over the pool area by their room and that they couldn’t wait to go home on the Thursday. By 5pm Thursday after they were very rowdy by the pool, drinking in the pool, disturbing guests trying to relax! Then they totally ruined our last night on the Thursday, when they were allocated over 60% of the rooftop bar terrace for their private function, leaving a small section for the remaining hotel guests to sit. The hotel entertainment was a guitarist but we could hardly hear him due to the amount of noise coming from the private function. Other hotel guests were coming up to the bar for drinks but whether it was because there wasn’t enough chairs, or the sheer noise or both, they immediately turned around and left. Others who would normally stay drinking until midnight, were leaving at 9/9:30pm, most likely because of the noise the private function were making! Then some of the guests at the private function decided to come over and take chairs from the section kept for the other hotel guests and take them over to the private function area! So if any other hotel guests had decided to come
