Hotel Barriere l'Hermitage

Came for a relaxing two day stay. After 7 hour drive to the hotel we sat relaxed with a glass of rose and a bottle of local beer and bottle still water. We then decided to organise dinner at one of the two restaurants at the hotel. We then discovered the main restaurant was closed and their seafood restaurant was full. Our only option was room service or find somewhere else. Sunday France everywhere was closed. We were super super disappointed- this was not a good start. We were not the only ones - bar staff couldn’t really care and just said we could have sliced meat and cheese if we wanted. The other staff were having a tough time trying to sort out a family who were in the same situation. Im sorry but if you have guests expected and you have at least one open restaurant you reserve a table for your guests! We sat in our room duly ordered pizzas. The cheapest item on the menu because everything else was 5* restaurant prices which we were not prepared to pay to sit in our room to eat. They were disgusting clearly shop bought with extra toppings. We couldn’t even have a cup of tea. We looked at the breakfast 30euros each for continental or American style breakfast at that point we realised this hotel is a rip off and we would not be staying any longer and made alternative plans. When we came to check out the next morning they did not care. The only saving grace after much discussion baring in mind the following costs; our drinks were 32euros one glass rose and one bottle beer & bottle still water, pizza 50euros and 33 euros a day to park your car - our car was parked outside the hotel entrance- they also did not like it because we used *********** and not booked direct - we had to accept that we had to loose the room money - they agreed to not charge for our food and drinks - we were so so disappointed and had very much looked forward to our stay - this hotel needs to stop trying to be like the shard or a hotel in Monaco and focus on what it should and can be. Clearly some guests dont care how much things costs like 33 euros a day to park your car- we are more than happy to spend if it is justified but this hotel is not. This was part of a 13 day holiday where we stayed in 6 hotels and this was by far the worst and yet promised to be the best - such a shame. Oh the chaps who park your car and take tour bags? 5* super lovely super professional couldn’t be nicer thank you.

From arrival to departure, everything was perfect! The whole team made us feel at home.. even better than home 😉. They would anticipate our needs always with a bright smile and friendly, but professional words. The hotel is just beautiful and the view from the room is unbeatable! The location is spot on. You have the ocean at your feet, and can enjoy the busy and charming life of La Baule in a few minutes walk or take a ride on the hotel bicycles to discover all the beautiful houses around. For the golfers, the La Baule Club is close by and offers fantastic courses. And not to forget about the tennis courts just a few minutes away at the over 100 years old Club. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The only “downside” is that we could not stay longer!! We will definitely be back..

We spent a few days. From the arrival to the departure everything was perfect. The location is amazing and the sea view rooms are a great choice The team is very helpful The restaurant on the beach offers great seafood for lunch and dinner

We loved the decoration of this palace, as well the common areas, the reception, our room, the breakfast room and the restaurant, we slept in a bright room with a beautiful sea view, the breakfast was unforgettable, lots of choice, the staff were professional and courteous while being discreet

Beautiful building comfortable rooms. Staff are more than helpful. The amenities were good. Spa and massage wonderful. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 was the A/C was broken and we were not informed. I would however definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Un séjour en demi teinte Nous allons régulièrement dans cet Hôtel depuis 15 ans et c est toujours un plaisir non seulement d y séjourner mais de revoir les équipes avec lesquelles nous avons tissés des liens mais cette ouverture pour le week-end de Pâques a été catastrophique . Nous attendions avec impatience la nouvelle piscine qui avait nécessité plusieurs mois de fermeture mais qui malheureusement n était pas terminé . Passé cette petite désillusion nous nous sommes contentés de la piscine intérieure petite certes mais le remplissage de l hôtel étant faible compte tenu des caprices de la météo elle nous a largement suffit . Même si les équipes sont toujours efficaces et professionnelles elles ont du compenser tous les ratés de cette ouverture … Sauna en panne idem pour le hamam pièces manquantes, fenêtre de la chambre qui ne fermait pas, laissant passé le vent très fort ce jour là , une seule personne aux soins du coup impossible de prendre un massage , la personne étant déjà occupée … Comment un établissement 5 étoiles peut non seulement ouvrir en ayant toujours les mêmes tarifs mais pas les prestations ? Cet établissement est une perle mais il repose non seulement sur le professionnalisme de ses équipes et on le voit bien avec le départ du chef barman et de plusieurs personnes de ces équipes où les prestations ne sont pas de la même qualité, sur ses prestations absentes ce week-end et sur sa localisation L accueil , la conciergerie, les voituriers et le service du petit déjeuner sont toujours parfait mais ils ne peuvent compenser les manquements qui ont été nombreux . Ouvrir oui mais pas à n importe quel prix , et de ne pas décevoir la clientèle …..Rien n est jamais acquis et de nouveaux clients pourraient être beaucoup moins conciliants que les anciens …… L qu’à ccueil

Un très bel hôtel avec tous les éléments du palace : accueil personnalisé, propreté, discrétion du service, belle décoration et chambre très agréable. Décoration dans le style des grands hôtel de La Baule et personnel de qualité Literie très agréable et service parfait Dommage que les salles de restauration soient aussi bruyantes lorsqu'il y a des groupes, seul point à améliorer selon mes expériences Etablissement à conseiller et à faire une fois dans sa vie !

Escapade BAULOISE fin octobre à L’Hermitage comme tous les ans. Comme d’habitude TOUT était parfait ! Personnel à l’écoute, très pro et plus que sympathique… Depuis toutes ces années nous arrivons chez des amis! Gestion des problèmes suite à la tempête parfaite ! A la lecture de certains avis, je pense que nous ne parlons pas du même établissement… Je conseille à ces quelques éternels insatisfaits de gérer leurs propre hôtel afin de satisfaire pleinement à leurs caprices et de fait , nous épargner leurs médiocrité!! Un grand merci à toute l’équipe de L’Hermitage et continuez a prendre soin de cette merveilleuse bâtisse ! On se revoit au printemps 😏
