Hotel Saint George

The food in this place was quite good (it's the top restaurant in Marfa), we were a bit early and the restaurant wasn't filled yet, the bar was loud and lively. The decor was upscale old western style. A local had recommended it as their favorite place in town.

It is nice to open the door to a hotel room, and I like everything about the room. It's well appointed with a comfortable bed and places to hang your clothes, and it's stylish. We were there for three nights while visiting art sites in Marfa. There is ample street parking or parking in a lot nearby. The location is perfect, and you can walk to everything around town. The hotel used local art in the hotel and rooms, which is excellent. There is a lovely gift shop off the lobby.

Loved the vibe. All spaces were very clean and well appointed. My mother and I were enjoying a bucket list trip. The staff Maggie, Ryan, Josh and Gigi helped add to the fun and joy of our trip. Maggie remembered speaking to me over the phone and sympathized with our difficult travel to arrive in Marfa. Ryan was knowledgeable about what he was serving in the bar and all presented excellent customer service!!! I appreciate all the amenities. I usually must use my own soaps because of my sensitive skin but not the case at this hotel. The products were non irritating. Yes the pool and fitness area are close but located off site. The walk is one you should take to experience what attracts those to Marfa. I also finally found the perfect towel!!! Where can I buy them? This hotel met all my expectations for a well traveled boutique seeking traveler. Thanks for a memorable, fun, relaxing stay.

Stayed here a few weeks ago. Nice decor, good food. The hotel - rooms, operations, service - nigh**are. Our room was too hot to sleep and the A/C did not work. If it weren't for the train that passes so close to the room at night that the room comes w/ear plugs, we could have opened the window to cool off. After 2 sweaty nights, we checked out early. The woman at the front desk promised a credit for the balance of our stay and an email showing it. After reviewing her email a few days later, I noticed she had applied the credit to the wrong account. This is when things went from not great to really bad. I called and spoke with Jacky about the issue. She did NOT want to deal with my issue. She insisted I talk to the mgr, which was unnecessary - it's just a credit reversal and reapply. Simple. She was agressive, said the mgr was in a meeting and hung up on me. Rude. I called back and got Andrea Barr, the mgr that was supposedly "in a meeting", told her the whole spiel and she seemed genuinely interesed in helping me. It's now been 1.5 weeks, a few emails inquiring about status, and the credits are still not in my account. I don't know if they are liars, incompetent or uncaring. There aren't a lot of choices in Big Bend but anything is better than this option.

While there are other options to stay at in Marfa, Hotel Saint George is definitely the premium option. The room was ideal for our overnight stay, clean, comfortable, quiet and with an excellent range of amenities. The hotel's bar is good for a quick cocktail and the lobby store has a well-curated (if expensive) range of design-oriented items to shop. Elegant and simple, the hotel is in an ideal location for all downtown Marfa had to offer us and was well worth the stay.

While I prefer not to dine at hotels as a general rule, we ate lunch here because there wasn’t much open in Marfa and we found the food to be very good and the staff to be attentive and friendly. The fish and chips were fried to perfection and came out hot and the beer served cold. We had a great lunch at a reasonable price.

We had an AMAZING stay at Hotel Saint George. Really relaxing break before Chris**as. Our room was GREAT with a bathtub and seperate shower. Bed is so comfortable, seperate sitting area as well. Staff was very helpful. We only had our room cleaned once (our preference) and housekeeping got right on it. We really LOVE the gym and went daily. It is 1/2 mile away but worth the walk or drive. All staff was exceptional.

We loved everything here! Great service, great food, great facilities, great location!

Really enjoyed my stay. From the aestitics to the massive towels everything made this stay really nice. Incredibly comfortable bed with the blackout window cover I slept so good. Brought my dog on this trip and hotel has designated outdoor area for dogs which was really nice as well.
