Great hotel comfy beds service excellent Right in the heart of everything

Great location, easy walk to Beale Street. Room was very clean. Duck Parade is a must. Will definitely stay here again.

On a holiday trip down south I had no doubt where we would be staying in Memphis; The Peabody Hotel is one of the most historic hostelries in the United States. Originally opened in 1869 and rebuilt and refurbished a number of times since, it is a Memphis icon and anyone who is anyone has stayed here while in town including seven Presidents, dozens of rock and roll and blues singers, Hollywood actors by the score and even Margaret Thatcher. It played a pivotal role in John Grisham's breakout novel The Firm and Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman stayed here while making the film. Aside from the glitterati who have made The Peadody their Memphis home, it is even more famous for its legendary ducks who twice a day make their way from their rooftop palace to the fountain that is in the middle of the vast lobby. Led by the Duckmaster it is a very odd spectacle that as dumb as it sounds, is something I’ve always wanted to see. Arriving at The Peabody you can’t help but be impressed by the massive lobby with bars, restaurants and shops running off to the sides. In two days I was still discovering new places including a run in with Jack Daniel at the Corner Bar which receives an annual special edition bourbon made especially for this bar. You'll also find the Lansky Bros. clothing store here. Although not originally at this location, it was from the Lansky's that Elvis bought his regular clothes, along with Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash. Since then it has used the motto ' Dress like a Rock Star' and countless others from Carlos Santana to Drake have followed in the Memphis singers' footsteps. Who knows who you might run into here? Coming here during the holiday season is quite special with a giant, and I mean giant, Christmas tree on one side of the lobby. There's also a substantial Christmas village featuring Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory which had to have a permanent guardian to prevent the little children from starting to eat parts of it. The Peabody offers free coffee to its guests in the pastry shop which I'm sure is a great loss leader as the pastries on offer are almost irresistible - white chocolate duck anyone? The duck theme continues to the rooms which have super comfortable linens and pillows and mini-bars of soap in the shape of a duck. All told there was nothing I would change about our stay at The Peabody, it lived up to our expectations in every respect and given the time of year was not nearly as expensive as I thought it would be. And yes we got to see the ducks march in from the balcony on the mezzanine.

The accommodations were amazing! Beautiful hotel, beautiful lobby, beautiful rooms, very luxurious. Great location. Walking distance to restaurants, shops, and Beale Street. And of course, the main attraction were the Peabody Ducks! Never seen anything like it. It was the cutest thing to see them come off the elevator at 11 am and march down the Red Carpet to the fountain where they would stay all day. And it was equally entertaining to see them leave the fountain at 5 pm and march down the Red Carpet to the elevator where they are taken up to their penthouse suite. Great source of entertainment for adults and children alike! Definitely expensive, but totally worth it!

Was celebrating our 55th anniversary and overall had a great experience. The downstairs lobby area and surrounding stores present a very upscale vibe. The Feathers Spa was really relaxing and was as advertised. The steak house was a disappointment, but the remainder of our stay was very enjoyable. The weekend had drag racing late into the night in the downtown area that made it hard to sleep that night, but that was not controllable by the hotel.

Our stay at the Peabody was very nice and for the most part enjoyable. The staff at the Peabody is exceptional! We were greeted warmly and the front desk personnel was very professional and friendly. I would advise getting to the hotel a little earlier than 4 p.m. for check-in. Navigating the lobby to get to the elevators is a little chaotic as people line up early to get a good space to watch the Duck Walk and the area around the elevators gets very crowded. The staff by the elevators did an excellent job of directing guests though while making sure all the kids had a front row seat to see the ducks. Our room was on the 4th floor and the room itself was very nice. We had a double bed room which would have been better if it had two queen beds. The beds were very comfortable though. Be advised that the bathroom is very small (a tall person would find their knees up against the bathtub). A longer shower curtain would certainly be better as the floor gets very wet because the curtain doesn't stay inside the tub. Had no complaints though about water pressure or cleanliness of the bathroom. We signed up for club access which included a happy hour, 24-hour snack accessibility, and breakfast the following morning. If happy hour is important to you it would be worth the cost. The major complaint we had about our stay was the excessive street noise which the hotel has no control over. It sounded like a car race down the streets with loud music that lasted until at least 3:00 a.m. I would suggest asking for a higher floor to help mitigate the noise. The Peabody is a beautiful hotel and was worthy of a quick night's stay. The location of the hotel is great if you head to Beale Street or the baseball park. I'm not sure we would stay again when going to Memphis because of the excessive noise at night (again, not the hotel's fault).

Stayed here after it was recommended by my sister on a trip to Memphis for work. Great place with a fantastic lobby. Loved just sitting around listening to the piano and watching the ducks.

I came home to enjoy a concert, and instead had the displeasure of missing a significant chunk of the concert due to moving rooms and spiders in each room i moved to (3 rooms, with no help given on moving my items until i was leaving. I was given incorrect billing information as well. I was promised a free stay and if I pay for anything it should just be the overage from the in room dining on my bed and breakfast package. Extremely disappointed!

We loved the afternoon tea at Chez. We are not even tea people but you must try it! We stayed the entire weekend and we live in Memphis! We didn't even feel like our house was 15 minutes away! We also had a massage at Feathers Spa. Highly recommend the Peabody Hotel!
