Sandals Negril (Sng)

We have been to many Upscale Adult Only resorts I have to say that we were truly disappointed with Sandals. We had to upgrade our room just to get room service. The ride from the airport was great. Our room was dated, the bathroom was small, the AC leaked onto the floor. The fridge was warm and not replenished often. I am no foodie but I know when my Blackened Blue Marlin is overcooked. Waiting at the main bar or any bar took along time. The liquor was short of TOP shelf. The Gourmet food that is advertised I don't think is all what they say. I have to say, the Catamaran to Ricks Cafe was worth every penny. The staff was the best that we have encountered in all of our travel excursions. The shallow surf and the sunsets are what sell Sandals in Negril. The water is amazing and the sunsets are second to none.

This was our first visit to Sandals-Negril and we were quite impressed. The property was not too big and not too small—just right. The beautiful beach and water activities were just what the doctor ordered. You can be doing something at all times or simply relax and do nothing. We love Jamaica and the Jamaican people. The staff at Sandals Negril are clearly the best of the best. We had especially great experiences with Renae at Barefoot by the Sea (made us feel like family) and with Tajay from the Beach Team (went way beyond his normal duties to help us with our beach chairs). Finally, each evening we were treated to really first-class entertainment. Not only were the performers really talented, but also took the time to mingle with the guests. On our first night, we noticed a particularly energetic and friendly staff member named Martel (plays piano for some of the shows and ably staffs the Piano Bar afterwards). He was musically talented, beyond gregarious and helped fill the night air with songs we know by heart and plenty of laughter. Thank You, Sandals Negril! We’ll be back!

This is our second time here at Negril location, and the experience overall was lovely. The room was spacious and clean, food was delicious, and we were able to change reservations for meals a couple of times due to our own preferences without any difficulty at all. Entertainment was good on the evenings, with the absolute best being the Silver Birds Steel Orchestra—their energy and skill are just phenomenal!! How they kept up that energy for the entire show is incredible, and I so hope to see them again any time we stay here. I must take a moment to specifically recognize Trevolynn, who was almost daily our bartender at the smaller bar near the Sundowner Restaurant. Her presence made sure that everyone was served quickly and with a smile, but she was so much more than just a friendly face. She was able to manage large influxes of customers, and keep flow going without forgetting any orders. She specifically remembered my husband and I, greeting us with a smile and kind word, and even remembering what we drink!! Lemonade during the day, and then which wine I prefer in the evenings, as well as my husband’s choice of drink! She was able to calm a couple of rude/unruly guests (as a woman myself, we females always seem to be the hardest to de-escalate). She made sure they didn’t cause trouble & helped them flow along without appearing bothered or rushed at all. These types of people skills are what make me choose to spend my precious vacation dollars at one resort over another, and are what should truly be rewarded. Maintaining calm and professionalism alongside sincere positivity and graciousness is so difficult in today’s world. Training only goes so far-Trevolynn is a gem!!

Continually the staff at Sandals Negril exceeded our expectations, showing us why Sandals is a five star resort. Any shortcoming the resort had, the staff made up for. The entire entertainment staff was fantastic even though their manager had quite the attitude towards us when we complimented them to her. She told us that we were paid to say that to her… That was FAR from the TRUTH. Quan, Chevee, Ashlee 1 and 2, AJ and many more throughout the trip and days made our experience so enjoyable and fun with all of the positive energy they brought day in and day out working tirelessly practicing and performing always with a smile on their faces! The bar staff, JWorth, Miguel, Nickesha, Dashwayne and newly hired Andre, as well as the staff at every bar were always attentive and constantly checking to see if we had any needs. We spent most of our time at the main pool so that’s why these were the most memorable! The concierge staff and butlers were extra attentive as well. Orlando and Silena made sure we well taken care of and there was never a shortage of fun as well as answered all of our questions about Jamaica and the people of the island! The entire water sports staff starting with Moses and Big Pappa ensured we were always safe and enjoying our time utilizing the many opportunities to explore the waters that Sandals has to offer. Moses took the time to show some people in our group how to sail safely and make the best out of the water! Big Pappa provided us with one of the best tubing experiences we’ve ever had, always smiling and making sure to say hi when he passed! Everly at the front desk is second to none. From the moment we arrived she met us with a beautiful smile, inviting demeanor, and positive energy. She saw that all of our questions were answered and our needs at check in were met almost immediately. Deron carried our bags to our room and provided excellent conversation explaining everything about the resort as well all of the features of the room. Sasha with Epix Photos was fantastic! She made the photo shoot an absolute blast and was a pleasure to work with! She also continued to stop and engage with us every time she passed by our area! As a matter of fact, every single aforementioned employee as well as many others I’m forgetting made sure to do that!!!!! The accommodations were excellent, but the staff was bar none some of the best people I’ve ever met in my entire life and throughout the world. The shows and entertainment were fantastic and I wouldn’t change a single thing about them. Thank you to all the staff that took care of my family and friends during our 7night 8day stay at Sandals Negril. It was an experience of a lifetime and unforgettable time that will caused us to be Sandals Negril lifetime vacationers. Can’t wait to see all of next year!!!

My husband and I came to Sandals Negril on our honeymoon a few weeks ago and there are not enough praises we can sing about this place. The food was absolutely phenomenal, the rooms were lush and so comfortable, the drinks were excellent, the activities were neverending, the staff was OUT OF THIS WORLD hospitable! We were in awe of how loved we felt being guests here. We felt like we were making friends with the staff, that is the level of kindness that these folks display not only on a service-level but just as people. To name a few of the MANY people who made our stay so wonderful: Jhevough in photography, Vandam in photography, Sheldon from housekeeping (he sang Kenny Rogers to us! He has the most amazing voice I've ever heard, his talent + kindness was so heartwarming), Jworth at the pool bar, Guan (had us laughing all week everytime we saw him as he always referred to my husband as "Blue Hat Guy"). Truly, this staff deserves everything in the world and we feel eternally grateful to have had the chance to meet this amazing folks.

This trip was below our expectations. Our expectations were for this trip to be better than our first visit to Sandals Negril. We first visited the Sandals Negril property in 2015. This was our 1st visit to any Sandals property. Since, then we have vacationed at two other properties On this visit, we were assigned room 5346. The view from the location wasn’t bad. But this property could definitely use an elevator or two. Especially, in the building that we were in. We had room 5346 for five nights on the 3rd floor. The issues that we encountered at Sandals Negril with room 5346: 1. The telephone in the room did not work. And it did not work because the cord that goes into the phone had been pulled out. Simple fix would have been to get another cord. Instead, I was given a resort cell phone for the room. It did not come with a power cord. So when the battery went down, I had to wait a couple of times until Club Sandals opened for the day to charge the phone. 2. The hot water in the room wasn’t very hot. It wasn’t cold but just not hot at all. We couldn’t call the front desk to report it because the room phone did not work. So we went down to the front desk. They said that they would send someone to our room. No one showed so after two hours I had to go back down. Someone finally showed and they did get the water hot but we could not replicate what they did for the rest of our stay. 3. We ordered room service one time and we were given an estimated delivery time. It was delivered 1 1/2 hours later. We were actually n the way out to get something to eat when the food finally arrived. 4. On our final night the power to the Paradise Building kept going out. It went out 3 or 4 times that night. So it was pretty dark. Afterwards, I could smell something burning. It smelled someone was welding late in the night. They are building a new luxury building next to the Paradise Building. Right where the Honeymoon Beachfront Building used to be. Looks very nice! 5. Upon checkout our luggage was picked up and brought down for our departure. I went out to make sure that our 3 pieces of luggage were there. There were a lot of people checking out at the same that we were so there was 2 buses. When we went out for the 2nd bus one of our pieces of luggage was missing. Apparently, it was loaded onto the other bus. Don’t understand why that happened because each piece of our luggage were a part of the same set. Which means they all looked alike and the same color. Also, each piece had an identical ID tag on them. Should have been impossible to separate one piece from the others. I got the piece of luggage back. But what if I hadn’t? The Sandals employees were looking at me like they were dumbfounded. Overall, I give the Sandals Negril Resort a 3.5 rating. I’m giving this rating because of the issues we had with room 5346 and the exterior of the Paradise Building is not up to standard. Some of the room furnishings were dated but ok. It’s not my favorite Sandals but it was ok. The mattress was awful but we were able to request a topper which helped for the most part. Club Sandals staff were very helpful with our requests. The resort is large which was not an issue but it felt like everything was scattered. We found the staff throughout the resort to be hit or miss. Some staff made it seem like you are nothing but a bother to them and other staff treated you normally. Then there were staff that were exceptional. I felt like the male entertainment staff at the main pool, with the exception of the entertainment manager were partial to certain guests and it was very obvious. The female entertainment staff seemed to treat all guests equally. That being said, Ashli-Ann from the entertainment team was awesome. She made you feel welcomed to be there, socialized with guests, and even offered to get drinks for us. Then there is Olivia who works at Crema who was super sweet and willing to even make you something that was different from the listed coffee menu. There was an employee who I believe her name was Sheniae who works at bayside during breakfast who was also very welcoming and checked in often to make sure you had everything you needed. Lastly, Amanda Panda from Loyalty & Travel Services. We saw Amanda on Sunday who made multiple suggestions for our next booking and offered us a great next vacation opportunity. The other staff in the office that day were also wonderful and welcoming. We happened to stop back on Monday even though Amanda wasn’t there to ask a question and the staff were not pleasant or friendly. A maintenance man came by on our last day to inquire if there were any concerns that needed to be addressed which I thought was nice. The male staff member who picked up our luggage for departure was very kind and courteous and knocked on our door to let us know he was taking our luggage do that we knew that it was staff taking and not just anyone taking it.

My experience at Sandals Negril was great, Ashliann & Chevy from the entertainment team made our stay extra special. Made us feel like family. The daily activities had us engaged adding the spark of fun we needed throughout our stay. Keep being amazing 👏 ✨️ ❤️

The entertainment team at Sandals Negril was absolutely remarkable! They were full of energy, very skilled and kept us engaged throughout the entire show. I’m very happy that me and my group stayed, it was the highlight of our night!
