High Sierra Condominiums

The views are great. The surrounding areas are quiet with not much service. The room is spacious but outdated. The kitchen cabinets are very old. The patio door is very hard to slide. There's a paper on it saying new door is ordered. However for me, it only means significantly less use of the patio. It can be very cold and windy outside. I am afraid if I can't close the door tight, the room will become cold and I may get sick. All other resorts I stayed use key cards or wrist bands. They don't mind if you not returning those on leaving. But here, they use the real key. I didn't pay attention how many keys I was given on check-in. My hands were full with all the paperwork, travel info, fireplace wood, my own car key and phone... Once settled down, I noticed only one key. I walked around the office, places I parked for check-in and unloading. I also searched inside my car and the rooms to make sure I didn't drop a key. I then thought I may just got one key because I am traveling solo. When check out, the front desk didn't say anything about the key. But they charged me $10 a few minutes later. I texted them at one of my car stop, explaining what I did and unsure if I really got two keys. Their reply is unsympathetic. It left odd feelings to me.

Stay at High Sierra was excellent. Views were great, rooms were clean and service was excellent. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Amenities were kept clean and functional. Our request to extend the check out time was honored which we were very great-full of. Overall experience is excellent.

Weekend RNR we had a great weekend unfortunately, very windy had nothing to do with the resort except it’s altitude made the wind worse but the view was great. a towel rack had to be repaired and the disposal wasn’t working but we let them know upon leaving. It wasn’t that important for us. we will definitely return again

NIGHTMARE! WE CHECKED OUT ON THIRD DAY OF STAY. November 2023 Inside, the units look as though they haven't been maintained or updated for the past 15 - 20 years. Furnishings are pitiful and look to be the original. We checked in on the weekend and were warmly greeted and welcomed by a woman named Stacey and another employee named Domonic. Such professional and capable people! On Monday, we met, Haley, the "Manager" of the property. This Haley person was oblivious to us and cared more about being "BOSS" than catering to her GUESTS! My wife has a 7-pound emotional support dog. This was explained to Haley when reservations were made yet, she reacted to my wife as though she did not remember! Something is definitely wrong with this person! We could not take anymore. We dropped off the keys and returned home. NEVER AGAIN WOULD WE STAY AT HIGH SIERRA IN RUIDOSO! SHAME ON ALDERWOOD!!!!!

This unit still needs some work that needs to be done. 1. Part of the facia above one of the large picture windows needs to be replaced, it’s peeling real bad. 2. Door stops are needed, there are small holes on some of the walls and also on the door for the heating unit. 3. The front door needs a metal strike plate. 4. One window in the spare bedroom doesn’t have a screen.

Good location. About 5 minutes from town. Staff was friendly and quick to resolve any issues. The only issue was mice (we didnt let staff know until after we left). Our friends stayed in a building that was 3 buildings down from us and they had mice too, so it might be a site issue. We saw several mice on different occasions. They were in the kitchen. We made sure to clean the kitchen every night, but we would still see and hear them exploring at night. The room is very outdated and some things were broken upon arrival (closet door, chair). We're not too picky so we just dealt with the issues.

This condo was spacious and had a beautiful view off the back deck. The kitchen was fairly well stocked with utensils. An added bonus was the washer & dryer inside our unit. Will definitely book again

The view from the condos is spectacular in the evenings! The condos are so roomy and large. They are older units but are kept very nice. The pool and hot tub are great at the end of the day. The area is away from the crowds and there are a lot of deer. We came to relax and it is perfect for having time away from stress. We ate at Jorge's which serves great Mexican food and a lot of it! The shopping is good and it is easy to find jewelry for any occasion. White Sands is close and very beautiful. There are several churches in the area. There is a Walmart and an Albertson's for groceries. Ruidoso is has been a favorite of my husband and I for many years.

Lack of Security. Sliders don't shut or lock, 2 inch openings. They said they have a lot of trouble with them but did nothing to solve the problem. Had to put towels in the gap to keep out bugs and cold. Anyone could of climbed over the balcony, SECURITY. No coverings on windows, sheets had to be used to cover them up, SECURITY. Discussing with urine stain mattress, hence removing sheets for windows. Don't go there.
